Mmmm. Long term probably not. It might net them enough support for one or two Presidential elections if they are lucky.
Also depends how they appear when they do it, as it could easily look to be nothing but false pandering.
Bush did show that Latino's could be won over, and there definitely is a thick vein of social conservatism in the Latino population, though it is also on the decline.
I don't see the GOP lasting as-is for longer than 10-15 years, the social conservative block will become too much of a burden. But it looks like the 'moderates' are trying to wrest control away from the talk radio / no compromise / hard right wing atm, so maybe they will manage it sooner rather than later.
Won't be holding my breath though.
